(Salutations)
THE COCONUT HAS BEEN CALLED THE “TREE OF LIFE,” AND RIGHTLY SO, GIVEN ITS MANY USES, FROM ITS ROOTS TO ITS LEAVES. THERE IS NO PHILIPPINE VILLAGE WITHOUT COCONUT TREES, FROM THE COASTAL AREAS TO THE MOUNTAINS.
NO PHILIPPINE BEACH AND COASTLINE CAN BE COMPLETE WITHOUT COCONUT TREES.
THE COCONUT TREES OR PALMS WE ARE PLANTING THIS MORNING, WILL NOT ONLY BEAUTIFY THIS MANILA BAYWALK PORTION OF THE MANILA BAY COASTLINE BUT WILL ALSO SERVE AS LIVING REMINDERS OF HOW MUCH THE COCONUT TREE HAS CONTRIBUTED TO OUR WAY OF LIFE.
THIS AREA HAS BEEN PLANTED WITH COCONUTS BEFORE. SUBALIT SA GINAWANG ASSESSMENT NG ATING FIELD OFFICE, MARAMI NA ANG MGA NAPUTOL O NAMATAY SA PAGLIPAS NG PANAHON.
SO WE WILL UNDERTAKE COCONUT PLANTING TODAY AS PART OF OUR RESTORATION AND CONTINUING REHABILITATION OF MANILA BAY.
THESE COCONUT TREES OR PALMS WILL ADD TO THE AESTHETIC VALUE OF THE AREA BECAUSE THEY WILL GIVE AN OTHERWISE PLAIN LANDSCAPE A DISTINCTLY TROPICAL AURA, THE WAY THIS AREA WAS DECADES AGO.
ON THIS NOTE, LET US MAKE SURE THAT THESE COCONUT TREES OR PALMS GROW TO FULL MATURITY.
MARAMING SALAMAT PO, AT MABUHAY!
