Around 200 members of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines-National Capital Region join the cleanup activity in line with the 1st year anniversary of the rehabilitation of Manila Bay dubbed as “Battle for Manila Bay: A Year After” in Baseco Beach, Port Area, Manila on January 26. The young scouts, aged 16 years old and below, are among the almost 90,000 volunteers who have been helping in the rehabilitation efforts led by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in 2019. Environment Secretary Roy A. Cimatu believes behavior change is the solution to the country’s solid waste problem and counts on young volunteers to make a difference in cleaning the heavily-polluted bay. ###
