The area, located along the coastal highway in Brgy. La Huerta, Parañaque City, is a seafood market where fisherfolk mostly from the neaby provinces of Cavite and Batangas bring their catch. The city government is currently rehabilitating the Bulungan into a cleaner and environment-friendly “dampa style” hub that allows the public to eat seafood freshly bought from the market, while enjoying a magnificent view of the famous Manila Bay sunset. The DENR and the city government, along with other partners, are enhancing ongoing efforts to clean up the Don Galo River which borders the Bulungan and drains directly into Manila Bay. The Bulungan is also adjacent to the Las Piñas Parañaque Wetland Park, which has been declared as a protected area and a Ramsar Wetland of International Importance.
