Volunteers from Brgy. Lagadlarin in Lobo, Batangas plant the mangrove species Avicennia marina characterized by its low root system and twisted branches during the World Water Day celebration held at the Lagadlarin Mangrove Forest on March 30, 2022. The site is one of the wetlands found in the province of Lobo, Batangas that caters to waterbirds and migratory birds. Prior to the activity, the municipality of Lobo signed the Environment and Natural Resources Partner’s Commitment with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Strategic Communication and Initiatives Service (SCIS) in support of best practices to preserve the province’s vast natural resources. A total of 81 volunteers joined the ecotour and tree planting activity conducted by the SCIS. ###
