The eagle, named after the town of Godod, was rescued from an upland dweller in Zamboanga del Norte and underwent physical and medical examination, and was geotagged before it was recommended for release. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources in Region IX has documented the breeding of the critically endangered Philippine eagle in the Zamboanga Peninsula particularly in Baliguian, Zamboanga del Norte, Pasonanca Natural Park in Zamboanga City, and in Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur. ###
