Philippines Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga (left), Head of the Philippine Delegation to the 28th Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) discussed the operationalization of the Loss and Damage (L&D) Fund with Steven Victor, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries, and Environment of the Republic of Palau during their bilateral meeting. Secretary Loyzaga and Minister Victor talked about the urgent need for a strong, collective voice in climate financing and the Philippines’ aspiration to continuously represent the most climate-vulnerable countries, including regions in the Pacific Island, as well as the Philippines’ offer to host the Lost and Damage Fund Board. Minister Victor acknowledged the country’s familiarity with international organizations and partnerships and expressed support for the Philippines to host the L&D Fund Board. ###
