Representatives of National Solid Waste Management Commission (NSWMC), chaired by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) convened on April 25 for the NSWMC en banc meeting in Quezon City. DENR Secretary Antonia Loyzaga (4th from left, front row) discussed with NSWMC member-agencies on ways to improve its operations and systems. These include the enhancement of an end-to-end profiling of solid wastes and the digitalization of NSWMC’s processes. During the meeting, the NSWMC also approved the ten-year solid waste management plans of 54 local government units. NSWMC-member agencies present were from the DENR, DENR-Environmental Management Bureau, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Science and Technology, Mother Earth Philippines, Metro Manila Development Authority, Department of Health, EcoWaste Coalition, Recycling Industry, and Manufacturing/Packaging Industry. #
