Representatives from Brgy. 412 Zone 42 in Manila and the Department of Public Services-Manila (1st to 6th from right) receive a trophy, check and other prizes totaling P100 thousand after Estero de San Miguel was declared grand champion of the Gawad Taga-Ilog 2.0: Search for Most Improved Estero in Metro Manila. Gawad Taga-Ilog is an initiative of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-National Capital Region (DENR-NCR) that recognizes local government units (LGUs) for their efforts and active involvement in keeping litter-free rivers and esteros. The 13 nominees were judged according to best practices, easement recovery and protection, river ecosystem restoration, and community engagement. Senator Cynthia A.
