Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Antonia Loyzaga met with officials from the United States Council on Environmental Quality (left photo) to explore possible areas of cooperation between the Philippines and the US on climate change, environmental justice, sustainability, biodiversity, and wildlife conservation on May 4 in Washington, DC. She also met with professors of George Mason University (right photo) during the President’s official visit to the United States. These form part of the DENR’s continuous consultation with international experts as the Department has been reframing its plans, programs, and policies based on science, data-driven, and systems approaches under Loyzaga’s leadership. The Environment Secretary was in the US with President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. as she joined him in several bilateral meetings aimed to expand the two countries’ cooperation on several key areas, including environmental protection and climate action. ##
