Winners of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Mx. Tagis Kalikasan, an all-gender search for stewards of the environment, are named as the agency culminates its celebration of the Philippine Environment Month and Pride Month on June 29, 2022. Jamille Vanessa Saplagio (center) won as Mx. Tagis Kalikasan while Ma. Victoria Somera (fourth from left) and Sandy Lloyd Orlanda (right) were named 1st and 2nd runners-up. The contest was spearheaded by the DENR Gender and Development (GAD) Office in cooperation with the Human Resource Development Service, Strategic Communication and Initiatives Service, Administrative Service, Knowledge and Information Systems Service, and DENR Employees’ Union. With the theme “Ano man ang kasarian, may lakas ipagtanggol ang kalikasan,” the search recognized the ability of all contestants, regardless of gender, to speak up and use their talents to spread awareness on the environment, especially on the prevailing climate crisis. ###
