Ms. Sankie G. Simbulan of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) EPR Advocacy and Partnerships, Office of the Secretary shares with international delegates the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Act of 2022, a landmark law of the Philippines to combat plastic pollution and to transition the country to a circular economy. In her presentation, “Multi-Sector Collaboration: Key to Successful Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Implementation,” Simbulan discussed the provisions of the EPR law, the progress of its implementation as well as the key factors to boost compliance to the law. The event was held during the International Conference on Connecting the Dots on Circular Economy for Sustainable Development attended by experts from the Philippines, India, South Korea, Thailand, Lao PDR, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, and Ethiopia.###
