Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Environmental Management Bureau Director William Cuñado (left) discusses with small- and large-scale fishing vessel owners and organizations the strategies and solutions to further improve their management of liquid and solid waste in support of the Manila Bay rehabilitation. In the meeting (right), the DENR, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and Philippine Ports Authority formed waste management plans including the establishment of a facility for used oils, use of yellow bins for COVID-related wastes, clustering of fishing vessels for the designation of pollution control officers, and proper garbage disposal system. Also present were DENR Undersecretary for Solid Waste Management and Local Government Units Concerns and Manila Bay Anti-Pollution Task Force head Benny Antiporda and PCG National Capital Region-Central Luzon spokesperson Lieutenant Michael John Encina. The meeting was held at the DENR Central Office on June 22, 2021. ###
