Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Undersecretary for Policy, Planning and International Affairs Jonas R. Leones discusses the Department’s plan to strengthen partnerships with other government agencies, civil society organizations and advocates, industries, and the academe in pursuit of its plans and programs for the mining and forestry sectors. The collaboration shall help develop acceptable, science-based and risk-informed strategies for the two sectors for the conservation and protection of the country’s environment and natural resources. Mining and forestry are the two industries seen to significantly contribute to the country’s economic growth. Leones represented DENR Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo Loyzaga during the Philippine Business Conference & Expo organized by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry on October 19 in Manila. ###
