Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Undersecretary for Solid Waste Management and Local Government Units (LGU) Concerns Benny D. Antiporda (right) and National Solid Waste Management Commission (NSWMC) Commissioner Romeo G. Hidalgo (4^th from left) file a complaint against Mayor Krisel Lagman Luistro of Tabaco City in Albay province and former mayor Lilver Roque of Limay town in Bataan at the Office of the Ombudsman on Nov. 25 for violation of Republic Act 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000. Antiporda said the filing of the case shall serve as a warning to other LGUs that continue to operate and maintain open dumpsites despite the prohibition in the law.
