DENR PENRO Iloilo recently conducted a Dalaw Turoat Lambuyao Elementary School and Abilay Elementary School all in Oton, Iloilo.Seventy-one (71)students from Lambuayo and 145 students from Abilay had fun learning about environmental protection and conservation. The students were from Grades 4, 5 and 6.

The Dalaw-Turo program inlcudes an overview of Republic Act 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000, and a discussion on mitigating the effects of climate change. The program is one of the activities of the Departmentof Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for its Information, Education and Communication Campaign. It is conducted in partnership with the academe and the communities to heighten their awareness on DENR’s programs and projects as well as to inform the participants on their roles in maintaing a clean and healthy environment./ DENR6-PENROIloilo
