President Aquino gives credit to all men and women of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in fulfilling the agency’s twin objectives of natural resources management and environmental protection.

“It is to the credit of the hardworking and dedicated men and women of the DENR that positive steps in light of this agenda have been taken over the past 25 years,” the President said.

The President’s message to the DENR family is contained in the preface of the coffee table book of the DENR entitled, “Protecting our Natural Wealth, Enhancing our National Pride”.

Consisting of 184 pages in full colors, the coffee table book chronicles the 25-year existence of the Department in photos and testimonies, highlighting important policy reforms and program milestones its various bureaus and field offices have achieved through the years.

It was in 1987 that the DENR was reorganized as such by virtue of Executive Order No. 192 issued by then President Corazon C. Aquino.
