In the local celebration of the World Wetlands Day, selected students and faculty members of the University of the Philippines Los Baños – College of Forestry, Pagbilao National High School, Talipan National High School, and senior representatives of Boy Scouts of the Philippines participate in an eco-experience tour organized by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Strategic Communication and Initiatives Service. Using the random tree planting method, the participants planted some 200 individuals of mangrove saplings at Pagbilao Mangrove Experimental Forest in Quezon Province. Aimed to be used for the National Greening Program, the mangrove species was planted to test if it can thrive under harsh conditions such as extreme temperature and tides. ###
