Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)-Land Management Bureau (LMB) Acting Director Emelyne V. Talabis (left) receives a set of Unmanned Aerial System (UAS), commonly called “drone,” from DENR Assistant Secretary for Policy, Planning, and Foreign-Assisted and Special Projects, and Forest Management Bureau (FMB) Director Marcial C. Amaro, Jr. (right) in a simple turn-over ceremony held at FMB in Quezon City on August 25, 2021. The survey-grade UAS (inset) includes one-unit ARACE Griffin Vertical-Take-Off and Landing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, a Global Navigation Satellite System Receiver, and a laptop with processing software. With the UAS, the LMB survey team can efficiently and safely perform land surveys especially with the limitations brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. In January 2018, LMB issued guidelines on the use of drones for land surveying. ###
