Personnel from the Environmental Management Bureau-National Capital Region (EMB-NCR) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources get water samples along the shores of the Manila Bay Dolomite Beach when it reopened to the public on December 28. Weekly test results in the month of December show that the fecal coliform count in the area averages between 2,000 to 3,000 most probable number per 100 milliliters (mpn/100mL), a significant improvement from the pre-rehabilitation level of 330 million mpn/100mL, and an indication of improving water quality. The standard coliform level for Class SB waters which is safe for swimming, skin-diving, and other forms of contact recreation is at 100 mpn/100mL. ###
