As the Philippine head of delegation for the 27th Conference of Parties (COP27), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo Loyzaga (3rd from left) joins officials and representatives from the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) in the roundtable discussion, “Scaling Up Comprehensive Risk Management to Avert, Minimize, and Address Losses and Damages” in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt on November 7. The discussion focused on how comprehensive risk management (CRM) has emerged as an approach and practice, and how risk is understood in terms of climate change adaptation and disaster risk management planning. Speakers shared their views on their respective countries and organizations’ actions that contribute to long-term climate resilience that are replicable, scalable, collaborative, and integrated.
