Dixon T. Gevaña (leftmost) of the University of the Philippines-Los Baños presents his research paper “Conserving Urban Mangroves for their Blue Carbon Stocks: Estimates from Tanza Marine Tree Park in Manila Bay, Philippines” during the 2022 Urban Parks and Green Cities Conference conducted by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau (ERDB) on October 11, 2022 in Manila. The study highlighted the importance of protecting the Tanza Marine Tree Park located in Navotas City, and its enlistment as a Key Biodiversity Area after its carbon stock condition showed that the park has an estimated ecosystem service value of US$ 102,317. The ERDB conference featured 75 research papers for the sustainable development and management of urban parks and green cities in Southeast Asia, written by local and international experts from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations member countries.###
