Representatives of Electric Cooperatives (EC) from various regions in the country visited the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Non-Combustion Persistent Organic Pollutants (Non-Com POPs) Destruction Facility in Mariveles, Bataan led by Leah Texon, the Philippine National Project Manager on Polychlorinated Biphenyls and E-Waste Management of United Nations Industrial Development Organization. The visit is in line with the Ceremonial Contract Signing between the ECs and the Natural Resources Development Corporation (NRDC). They were accompanied by DENR Undersecretary for Special Concerns and Legislative Affairs and NRDC Supervising Undersecretary Ignatius Loyola Rodriguez (left), officials of the NRDC, Environmental Management Bureau, and Eco-Waste Coalition.
The purpose of the visit was to observe the operations and procedures of the Non-Com POPs Destruction Facility operated by the DENR-NRDC under the direction of NRDC Officer-In-Charge Alexander Linde, and Non-Com POPs Destruction Facility Project Manager Edelito Zoilo Edralinda,
