Experts from the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA); Resources Environment and Economics Center for Studies (REECS); and the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) gave an overview of natural capital accounting and how it is integrated in macroeconomic indicators, during a brown bag session at the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. The session comes as Congress passed on third and final reading a bill that seeks to establish the Philippine Ecosystem and Natural Accounting System (PENCAS) after which it will be taken up in the Senate. The DENR “Brown Bag Sessions” are conducted to enhance the knowledge base of the department’s officials and employees through sharing of best practices by experts and practitioners. ###
