The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has partnered with 10 people’s organizations (POs) in Central Luzon to develop 450 hectares of agroforestry and other livelihood projects under DENR-Region 3’s “Community-based Forest Management-Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CBFM-CARP) project.

“The CBFM-CARP project seeks to address the twin issues of environmental security and climate change by providing them financial and technical support in the development of their agroforestry projects,” DENR-Region 3 Director Francisco Milla, Jr. said.

Milla identified the PO-beneficiaries as Alangan Farmers Producers Association in Bataan; Sentro sa Pamamahala ng Pamayanang Mambikap, Bulawen Livelihood Center and Dusoc Upland Farmers Association in Zambales; Parista Tree Planters Association in Nueva Ecija; and Dueg Agroforestry Farmers Association, Labney Upland Farmers Association, Cacupangan Tree Farmers Assocation and Bundok Sula Upland Farmers Association in Tarlac. ###
